All the talk is about the imminent sale of Enzo Fernandez to Manchester City, but Chelsea have plenty in the works, and one of BlueCo’s longest-serving players is about to leave for £3m.
On Thursday, Chelsea announced their seventh permanent sale this summer in Liam Delap. While Ipswich have a 20% profit clause, the Blues agreed a £50m deal for the striker as Forest pay a club-record fee.

Delap follows Marc Cucurella, Andrey Santos, Tyrique George, Trevoh Chalobah, Jimmy-Jay Morgan and Omari Kellyman in being sold this summer. So far, Chelsea have raked in around £215m from player sales.
That could increase very quickly. Fernandez’s £120m move to Man City is done, according to reports in Argentina, while Nicolas Jackson is close to joining Villa for £65m. Now, a tenth possible sale is imminent.
David Datro Fofana is finally leaving Chelsea permanently
Bought for £10m in January 2023, six months after BlueCo had taken over the club, David Datro Fofana is the player fans remember as the first example of the club’s owners using amortisation in their favour.
Fofana still has three years left on his Chelsea contract but finally, after five loan exits, Fofana is set for a permanent departure. He’s spent time at Goztepe, Burnley, Fatih Karagumruk, Union and Strasbourg.

Now, according to Sacha Tavolieri, 23-year-old Fofana is set to complete a £3m move to Swiss outfit Servette. Chelsea will receive £2.15m up front, and a further £850,000 in add-ons for the outcast striker.
“David Fofana to Servette; We’re there! Agreement in principle, a €2.5m transfer plus €1m in bonuses. Final details to iron out, expected tomorrow morning. Could travel Friday afternoon. 3-year contract.”
Chelsea are closing in on £400m in sales – who else could go?
Jackson, Fernandez and Fofana are close to leaving the club. With £215m already secured, the three deals would see Chelsea reach a whopping £400m. But more sales could take place in the coming days.
John Obi Mikel believes Pedro Neto wants to leave Chelsea, and his reaction to Reece James’ criticism against Fulham was a sign he wants out. Alongside Neto, Malo Gusto continues to be linked with a move.
Tosin Adarabioyo, Marc Guiu and Gaga Slonina could also be offloaded, and there are a few loan exits expected too. Mamadou Sarr underwent a medical at Sociedad on Thursday. Plenty left to do for Chelsea.
That’s even before we consider incoming signings, too. Emi Martinez is set to join Chelsea from Aston Villa, while the Blues will be expected to replace Fernandez once his move to Man City is confirmed.
