However, it is fair to suggest that the club still needs to bring in more attacking reinforcements before the transfer window shuts in a few days’ time. Spurs cannot rely solely on Richarlison and Dominic Solanke to lead the line for the entire season, considering that both are injury-prone players and lack the consistency required to make the Lilywhites genuine top-four contenders.

The 27-year-old is keen on exploring new opportunities as he is all set to fall down the pecking order at Anfield following Bradley Barcola’s arrival from PSG.
However, the North Londoners need to fend off competition for the Dutchman’s signature this summer. It is now confirmed that Manchester City also bid for Gakpo in recent days as part of their attacking revamp under Enzo Maresca. The Cityzens are keen on bringing in the 27-year-old and believe he could play a huge role on the left flank at the Etihad Stadium this season.
Manchester City are also linked with a high-profile move for Everton star Iliman Ndiaye. This move could see Jack Grealish go the other way to the Hill Dickinson Stadium. Ben Jacobs has now provided the latest update on Cody Gakpo’s immediate future at Anfield as Manchester City and Spurs continue to keep tabs on him. Speaking on the Last Word on Spurs podcast, Jacobs said,
“Spurs target Cody Gakpo was not expecting this Manchester City interest 2-3 weeks ago. If Manchester City choose not to go for Iliman Ndiaye, they will go all-in on Cody Gakpo late in the window.”
Having agreed personal terms with Cody Gakpo earlier last week, Tottenham are back to square one as Manchester City are keen on signing the prolific attacker this summer. The Cityzens are targeting a move for Everton star Iliman Ndiaye as well before the transfer window shuts. However, the Toffees are in no mood to lose their key attacker, forcing Man City to make a move for Gakpo instead.
One would understand if Gakpo turns down Spurs and decides to move to Manchester City instead.
