The 21-year-old American left-back’s name was mentioned in North End circles online on Thursday night, and now Alan Nixon has reported that PNE do indeed hold an interest.

If they were to sign Wiley, it would be on a loan deal, something that Nixon says West Ham United have also looked into.

He has previously been loaned out to Strasbourg - Chelsea’s sister club - and Watford, who he spent the second half of the 2024/25 season and the first half of the following campaign with.

After 15 appearances across those two spells with the Hornets, he was recalled by Chelsea in January this year, to continue his rehabilitation from a long-term adductor injury.

Wiley’s career began with Atlanta United, making his debut for their reserve team aged 15. He signed a professional contract with their senior side in 2022 and made 83 appearances, scoring six goals, before moving to Chelsea in 2024 for £8.5m.
