Tampa Bay Buccaneers news: Preseason finale vs. Jaguars will reveal 53-man roster

The Tampa Bay Buccaneers are playing against the Jacksonville Jaguars in their final preseason game before the front office and coaching staff trim the roster from 90 to 53 players.

Over 30 players will be sent to waivers, but only a fraction will be asked back for the practice squad. Tonight’s game against the Jags will likely determine which players make the team, the practice squad and those who will hit free agency.

Bucs Nation, how do you feel about the team ahead of the preseason finale against the Jaguars? Let us know in the comments section below.

The Buccaneers’ rookie class has showed promise with Rueben Bain Jr. leading the way. However, there are also some potential long-term starters in linebacker Josiah Trotter and cornerback Keionte Scott.

The connections between the Buccaneers and Jaguars are plentiful, and that could come in handy when the teams are finalizing their rosters. Perhaps Tampa liked a player or two they saw in Jacksonville to put on the final roster.

The defending champion Seattle Seahawks are putting their bow on the offseason by inking Leonard Williams on a long-term deal.

The Jaguars and Buccaneers may be in separate conferences, but that hasn’t stopped the two Sunshine State teams from forming a rivalry over the years.
