Alexis Mac Allister has reportedly been offered to Man City by intermediaries as the midfield market shapes up, with Lamine Camara also proposed to Liverpool.

Mac Allister has entered the final two years of his contract at Liverpool, but both player and club appear resolved to staying together this season.

With days remaining in the transfer window, however, the 27-year-old has been offered to Man City by intermediaries.

That is according to Fabrizio Romano and Sky Italy’s Gianluca Di Marzio, who claim that Mac Allister has been presented as a possible alternative to Chelsea‘s Enzo Fernandez.

Fernandez is a target for Man City and Sky Sports report that Chelsea are willing to sell for the right price – which could be upwards of £120 million.

But with Man City known to be seeking a new midfielder it is interesting that Mac Allister is considered as a market opportunity.

This comes despite Liverpool giving no indication they would sell and the Argentine’s father and agent, Carlos Mac Allister, insisting he plans to remain on Merseyside.

“Alexis will stay at Liverpool, we have not discussed any possibility of his departure from the club this summer,” Mac Allister Sr. said earlier this month.

Journalist David Lynch explained on YouTube that he would be “very surprised” if Liverpool were to sign a midfielder before Tuesday’s deadline, with sources maintaining that their priorities are out wide.

But the Reds are seemingly viewed as an option by those offering midfielders out for moves in the final days of the window.

Transfer reporter Ben Jacobs is among those to report that Monaco defensive midfielder Camara has been offered to both Chelsea and Liverpool as he eyes a move to the Premier League.

It seems more likely that the 22-year-old – who was named as a player of interest at Anfield back in May – moves to Chelsea as a replacement for Fernandez.

However with Fernandez not guaranteed to leave for Man City at this stage, despite his absence from Chelsea‘s 2-0 win over Luton on Thursday night, the situation remains open.

Liverpool are still finalising a deal for Paris Saint-Germain‘s Bradley Barcola while they are also exploring a number of options for the right wing.

But it is possible that a surprise transfer develops between now and Tuesday, with Andoni Iraola telling reporters: “If there’s an opportunity on the last day and you think, ‘OK, it improves us’, let’s take it.”
