**Liverpool are set to lose out on Ibrahim Mbaye to a Premier League rival.**

The Europa League holders have struck a deal worth £47 million to secure Mbaye’s signature despite the Reds failing to meet PSG’s valuation of the player.
According to the Athletic, a strong relationship between Villa chairman Nassef Sawiris and his Ligue 1 counterpart Nasser Al-Khelaifi was key to the deal.
Mbaye has yet to feature for PSG this season as Luis Enrique stood down the teenager and fellow winger Bradley Barcola, whose move to Anfield is imminent.
