Liverpool teenager Josh Abe has gone under the knife to repair a shoulder problem

Liverpool youngster Josh Abe faces a spell on the sidelines after undergoing surgery to repair a persistent shoulder injury.
Abe, the 16-year-old winger who featured for the first team during pre-season, suffered a dislocated shoulder earlier this month having played for the under-18s against Manchester City.
The teenager was seen at the AXA Training Centre last week with his right arm in a sling as a precaution.
And Abe has now confirmed on social media he has had an operation, posting a photograph of him in hospital with the caption: "Surgery. Minor setback."
Speaking last Friday, U21s head coach Rob Page said: "He dislocated his shoulder. It popped out and popped back in again. Apparently, he has had this problem for a while, so it's nothing major.
"It's just something that he is having to go through."
Highly-rated Abe, who has been at Liverpool since the age of four, was being pursued by a number of European heavyweights before committing his long-term future to the the club in June.
He was subsequently part of the United States tour with Andoni Iraola's senior side and appeared in the friendlies against Sunderland and Wrexham, and later scored on his first U21s appearance in a friendly against Huddersfield Town.
