These final few days of the summer transfer window could be tricky for FC Barcelona to navigate. After all, it is quite common for the final hours of the summer transfer window to be quite hectic and chaotic in terms of wrapping up deals irrespective of which direction the players are headed.

Still, some pressing matters remain unresolved and one of the most notable cases at Barça right now is that of Spanish left-back Alejandro Balde. Undeniably a talented player, the current situation of the player helps no one considering how he does not seem to be in Hansi Flick’s immediate plans for the team.

This uncertainty over his continuity and whether or not Flick will be willing to give him opportunities this season has created some tension and interest from outside is building up as well. In fact, as reported by SPORT, a certain Italian giant from the Serie A seems interested as well now.

Reportedly, AC Milan has made contact with Barcelona to enquire about the current situation revolving around Balde. While it is yet to be decided if they wish to fully pursue the deal, or whether or not it would even be a permanent transfer operation in the first place, Milan’s interest suggests a common trend.

With Manchester United previously interested and AC Milan now studying the potential formulas that could be used to acquire Balde, the player’s future remains up in the air. However, at Barcelona, he is yet to play a single minute of La Liga action this season considering that he was an unused substitute in the recent game against Athletic Club as well.

As for Barça’s valuation, they reportedly place the player’s current value at €40 million and do not wish to facilitate a move for anything below that price tag. Moreover, with the player wanting to stay and fight for a place with a contract that is in place until 2028, it will surely be a complicated few days to sort out the future of 22-year-old La Masia defender.
