Premier League champions Arsenal could yet be very busy in the transfer market between now and Tuesday's deadline.
The Gunners have enjoyed a relatively successful window thus far, despite not landing the superstar forward they've been chasing throughout the summer. Bruno Guimaraes has joined in a £75 million deal from Newcastle United, Christos Tzolis has arrived from Club Brugge as a Leandro Trossard replacement, and Ezri Konsa has been added to Mikel Arteta's ranks to cover for the injured William Saliba.
Despite these successes, there is still a desire for more at the Emirates. A world-class attacker was the primary item on their agenda at the start of the window, and they've failed in multiple pursuits for this calibre of player, with Vinicius Junior, Bradley Barcola and Morgan Rogers all passing them by.
Meanwhile, several players on the periphery of Arteta's squad still need to move on before the end of the window to generate funds and create space for at least one more incoming.

Arsenal Linked With Three Strikers

Julian Alvarez
According to the Daily Mail, Julian Alvarez is Arsenal's dream target, and Arteta still harbours hope of securing the player's signature before the end of the window. Alvarez has been involved in a hostile saga with Atletico Madrid throughout the summer, and his situation at the Wanda Metropolitano now looks untenable.
Atletico released a statement on Thursday declaring that they will refuse to sanction the Argentine's dream move to Barcelona under any circumstances. After being booed by his own supporters on Sunday, that leaves the World Cup winner with a clear decision to make: remain at Atletico and embrace the toxic environment around him, or sign for Arsenal.
The Gunners hope that Alvarez will opt for the latter choice, but they are prepared to turn to alternatives if need be.

The Daily Mail indicate that Victor Osimhen is seen as a viable alternative to Alvarez. The Nigerian is always said to be open to leaving Galatasaray if a big club comes in with an offer which matches his wage demands.
Arsenal explored a move for Osimhen earlier in the summer but are yet to lodge a formal proposal to the Turkish giants. If a move for Alvarez falls short, this shouldn't be a particularly difficult deal for the Gunners' sporting director, Andrea Berta, to pull off. Galatasaray may be willing to sanction their talismanic striker's departure as they'll have ample time to source a replacement, with the Turkish window not closing until September 4th.

Another alternative to Alvarez that Arsenal are reportedly considering is Real Madrid's Endrick. The Brazilian's role isn't clear at the Bernabeu under Jose Mourinho, and there is subsequently a feeling that Los Blancos might be prepared to let the player go in the dying embers of the window.
Like Osimhen, Arsenal looked into signing Endrick earlier in the window but didn't make any serious inroads on this front. However, talkSPORT report that the Gunners have reignited their interest in the 20-year-old and are prepared to move for him in the last few days if they get the green light from Real Madrid.
Arsenal Still Trying to Sell Multiple Players

To create squad space for another forward, Arsenal need to let go of Gabriel Martinelli. Fortunately for Arteta and Berta, a conclusion is imminent regarding the Brazilian's future.
Saudi Pro League club Al-Hilal are understood to be closing in on a £50 million deal for Martinelli, with the player recently agreeing personal terms with the Middle Eastern outfit. He's set to travel to Saudi Arabia to complete the move in the coming days.

Like Endrick at Real Madrid, Ethan Nwaneri is a promising young player who has no obvious role at Arsenal. Martin Odegaard, Mikel Merino and Eberechi Eze are all ahead of him in the pecking order, and thus, the 19-year-old needs to leave N5 to continue his development elsewhere.
That said, the Daily Mail suggests that a departure for Nwaneri is only expected to be temporary, with the Gunners not prepared to cut ties with the starlet just yet. RB Leipzig have been linked in recent months.

Gabriel Jesus has a year left on his lucrative contract at Arsenal, and there have been some reports suggesting that the Brazilian is willing to sit through the remainder of his deal and leave for free next summer. However, it's been revealed that Jesus is currently training separately from the rest of Arteta's squad, with Arteta commenting on this arrangement in his press conference on Thursday.
"It's something to do with the numbers that we have in the squad at the moment and the way we're managing that kind of situation individually with all the players - they have some personal situations."
This could be a ploy from Arsenal to make it clear to the former Manchester City man that he'll play no role next season, prompting him to explore an exit in the remaining days of the window. Napoli are said to be interested in Jesus, and this is a prospective deal that could certainly re-emerge at the eleventh hour.

Somehow, Fabio Vieira is still an Arsenal player, but he's extremely unlikely to be come the end of next week. He spent the duration of last season on loan at Hamburg, and the German club are understood to be interested in signing the Portuguese playmaker permanently, but are currently playing the waiting game.
Florian Pletterberg reported this week that there is a 'few million euros' gap in the valuation of the player between the two clubs. A compromise is likely to be reached.
