Chelsea have agreed a surprise permanent deal to sell Marc Guiu to RB Leipzig after the Bundesliga club completed negotiations away from the public eye.
Fabrizio Romano has given the transfer his trademark “here we go”, reporting that agreements are in place between both clubs and the player.
Guiu is now expected to travel ahead of completing the remaining formalities, with Chelsea also securing a sell-on clause as part of the deal.

Chelsea agree Marc Guiu sale to RB Leipzig
The destination represents a major twist in Guiu’s transfer saga.
ReadChelsea reported earlier this week that Manchester City had explored a surprise move for the £25m-rated striker, while Napoli had previously emerged as one of his strongest options.
Guiu had been weighing several possible destinations after being left without a Chelsea first-team squad number.
At that point, Napoli were pushing for a permanent Guiu transfer, with interest also coming from elsewhere in Europe.
Leipzig have now beaten those clubs to his signature.
In his breaking update, Romano reports that Leipzig conducted “secret talks” over Guiu with no previous links emerging publicly before an agreement was completed.
Both the player and club sides are now described as done.
Guiu becomes latest Chelsea striker exit
The permanent move continues Chelsea’s aggressive restructuring of Xabi Alonso’s squad before the transfer deadline.
Guiu’s route to regular football had become increasingly difficult following Chelsea’s attacking recruitment.
Joao Pedro remains a major part of Alonso’s plans, while Danny Welbeck scored on his competitive debut against Luton on Thursday.
Chelsea have also moved several other forwards out during a hectic closing period of the window.
Guiu’s departure is particularly significant because Chelsea have chosen a permanent sale rather than another loan for the 20-year-old.
The sell-on clause allows the Blues to retain a financial interest should Leipzig eventually move the Spanish striker on for a larger fee.
No transfer fee has yet been disclosed.
Guiu will now travel to complete the final stages of a deal that emerged almost entirely out of nowhere.
