Liverpool have agreed a deal for Bradley Barcola but remain on the market for attacking reinforcements.
They have had two bids rejected for Yankuba Minteh and also had an approach knocked back for Ismaila Sarr.
Other players like Matias Fernandez-Pardo were linked earlier in the summer, but nothing materialised since.
One player Liverpool really wanted to sign earlier in the summer was Ibrahim Mbaye.
And now, it appears as if he is set to join Aston Villa.

David Ornstein first reported that the fee would be €55m after the Senegalese international gave the deal his go-ahead.
He wrote on X: “Aston Villa reach agreement in principle to sign Ibrahim Mbaye from Paris Saint-Germain. #AVFC move for 18yo #PSG winger in process of being finalised: €55m. Nasser Al-Khelaifi & Nassef Sawiris relationship key to closing deal.”
Fabrizio Romano then doubled down on his claims, adding that Jorge Mendes is driving the transfer.

Liverpool don’t have much time to sign another attacker after Barcola, but it certainly won’t be Mbaye as he is headed to Villa Park.
