AS Monaco midfielder Lamine Camara is attracting interest from several clubs this summer, with Chelsea exploring a move while Liverpool have also been offered the Senegal international.
Chelsea are considering Camara as they wait for a formal bid from Manchester City for Enzo Fernandez. While he is not viewed as a like-for-like replacement for Fernandez, Camara would strengthen their midfield options if the Argentine leaves before Tuesday night’s transfer deadline.

Liverpool are yet to submit a formal proposal but reportedly admire Camara and could make a late move. The midfielder could help address their ongoing issues in central areas, with Andoni Iraola’s side lacking depth following recent squad changes.
Camara is regarded as one of French football’s most dynamic young midfielders. The former Metz player is a box-to-box midfielder who combines tackling and ball recovery with ball-carrying and progressive passing.
Camara featured for Monaco against Gornik Zabrze on Thursday as the club secured a place in the UEFA Europa Conference League league phase.
Monaco CEO Thiago Scuro has said he “hopes” Camara will remain at the club. “It is possible that he stays and possible that he leaves,” Scuro told Canal Plus.
“We hope that he stays, but we have to make financial decisions […] but for Lamine we hope that he stays at Monaco for one more season.”
There’s an argument that adding a new midfield option this summer is just as important as reinforcing the forward line for Liverpool.
Dominik Szoboszlai and Ryan Gravenberch were part of Liverpool’s title-winning midfield in 2024/25, but their attacking instincts can leave the Reds exposed in central areas, as demonstrated in the 2-2 draw with Newcastle United.
Liverpool may need another central midfielder following Curtis Jones’ move to Inter Milan, despite the club’s hopes of developing highly rated youngster Trey Nyoni.
