Bradley Barcola is set to undergo his Liverpool medical this weekend as he edges closer to a switch from Paris Saint-Germain.
Barcola is poised to put pen to paper on a five-year contract, with the Reds paying an initial fee of $144M (£106m) plus a further $23M (£17m) in add-ons, making him the club's second most expensive signing in their history, behind only Alexander Isak.
Liverpool identified the France international as their primary transfer target earlier this summer and have been in protracted negotiations with PSG for over a month in their bid to bring him to Anfield.
The Ligue 1 champions had initially sought $196M (£145m) for Barcola, but talks intensified on Wednesday evening, with an agreement in principle reached by Thursday morning.
The finer details of the move have now been ironed out for the 23-year-old, who featured in the France squad that finished fourth at the World Cup, reports the Liverpool Echo.
Barcola trained as normal alongside his PSG team-mates on Thursday while the two clubs tied up the remaining specifics of the deal.
The winger has now been given the green light to complete his Liverpool medical ahead of what promises to be the most significant signing of the summer transfer window in the Premier League to date.
The transfer will cement Barcola as the second most costly acquisition in Liverpool's history, surpassed only by Isak, who made the move from Newcastle United last year.
The arrival of Barcola, who could make his Reds debut in the Premier League fixture at Ipswich Town on 4 September, represents a significant coup for new head coach Andoni Iraola, who has made pace and width his priority throughout the summer following Mohamed Salah's departure at the end of last season.

Victor Munoz was brought in from Osasuna in June, but Liverpool's recruitment team have been tasked with further strengthening their wide options, with the Frenchman having been identified as the top target more than two months ago.
"I think for a club like us we need wingers who can make the difference, who can be the man who can make the difference in isolation, who can attack the spaces, who can also do the defensive work that we are going to demand from them in terms of pressing or sometimes following the full-backs," Iraola said on Thursday.
"And also if they can provide numbers then it's perfect. It is difficult to find someone who can tick all the boxes, but it is what we are trying to do."
Barcola predominantly operates on the left-hand side, and the Reds are still expected to pursue another wide player on the opposite flank ahead of the 11pm transfer deadline on Tuesday evening.
Liverpool have seen two bids knocked back by Brighton and Hove Albion for Yankuba Minteh, while the club have also registered an interest in Crystal Palace attacker Ismaila Sarr, who is similarly attracting attention from Turkish heavyweights Galatasaray.
There are also question marks hanging over the future of Cody Gakpo, who is being targeted by Tottenham Hotspur and has attracted an approach from Manchester City this month.
