The transfer rumour mill is unsurprisingly in overdrive with only a handful of days remaining before Tuesday night’s deadline.
Leeds have plenty of work to do before the window shuts, but one position we don’t need to recruit is a right-sided centre-back.

A report from Football Insider this week has surprisingly claimed that Leeds are in the market to continue strengthening the defence.
That’s partly true, we could do with a certain type of defender. But, their sources claim Leeds are looking at signing Everton and Republic of Ireland centre-back Jake O’Brien.
It’s said in the report that Leeds have ‘registered interest’ in signing the 25-year-old heading into the final days of the transfer window.

You probably didn’t need me to tell you this:
Leeds United will not be signing Jake O’Brien this window. And, I would be willing to wager we aren’t even remotely interested in signing him.
The reason? We’ve fully reinforced our centre-back contingent already with Tarik Muharemovic and Nico Elvedi, the latter being our backup to Jaka Bijol and Joe Rodon.
Elvedi’s debut vs Nottingham Forest was exemplary and proof that he can step in when he’s needed. Plus, our successive clean sheets outline that we’ve already built from the back very well, so O’Brien is not on the agenda.
We do not need any more centre-backs. And, O’Brien clearly wouldn’t want to leave Everton for Leeds, only to be firmly fifth choice in our pecking order.
When you look at the final days of the window, our priorities are very clear:
Striker competition for Dominic Calvert-Lewin
Left-back cover for Gabriel Gudmundsson
Left-wing competition for Noah Okafor
These three signings may not all be completed. But, at least two of them (left-back and striker) ought to be if Farke wants to feel confident of staying clear of any injury crises.
