Liverpool have reached an agreement to sign Bradley Barcola from Paris Saint-Germain just days before the summer window slams shut, with the Reds saving £22m on the move

Liverpool have managed to save £22million in their pursuit of Bradley Barcola, having struck a deal with Paris Saint-Germain to the tune of £123m. The Reds have pursued the 23-year-old winger for the entirety of the summer, with Les Parisiens initially slapping a transfer fee of around £145m on him to deter any suitors.
However, with the Frenchman falling out of favour under Luis Enrique, coupled with the acquisitions of Mika Godts and Maghnes Akliouche behind Khvicha Kvaratskhelia and Desire Doue, PSG's valuation of Barcola has dropped. Now a deal has been agreed to move on Barcola for £123m.
As per the Athletic, that fee is made up of an initial guaranteed £106m, as well as £17m in add-ons. A medical for Barcola is now expected in the next 24 hours.
It comes as Liverpool lacked creativity in the final third last Sunday, as they kicked of their Premier League season with a 2-2 draw with Newcastle United at St James' Park. Barcola should recify that issue, given the Lyon-born talent managed 11 goals and two assists in Ligue 1 alone last term, before shining with France at the World Cup this summer.
However, Barcola isn't the only player that the Reds are looking to snap up as the summer transfer window ticks down. Andoni Iraola could also have Ismaila Sarr at his disposal for the rest of the season, with Liverpool agreeing a five-year contract with the Crystal Palace attacking-midfielder.
Negotiations with the Eagles now await, given the club rejected an opening bid of around £51m for the 28-year-old. Elsewhere, Liverpool are also reportedly considering a move for Monaco's Lamine Camara.
Monaco are thought to be willing to sell the 22-year-old midfielder ahead of Tuesday's transfer deadline, but only for the right price. Further departures could also come on Liverpool's part ahead of the window closing.

With Barcola expected to be a starter on the left, Cody Gakpo could be headed for the doors of Anfield. The 27-year-old struggled for consistency last season, but has seen a wealth of interest from both Tottenham Hotspur and Manchester City.
Despite recently welcoming Savio and Omar Marmoush, Spurs are still said to be looking to bring in the Dutchman. Personal terms with Gakpo have been agreed since July, with the North London club biding their time to make a move.

Harvey Elliot, meanwhile, has reportedly agreed personal terms with Valencia. Talks between Liverpool and the Spanish club are ongoing to finalise a loan move before the transfer deadline.
The 23-year-old was left out of Liverpool's squad for their trip to Tyneside last weekend, after a summer of speculation regarding his future on Merseyside.
It comes as Liverpool will now turn their attention to a Premier League clash with Nottingham Forest at Anfield at 12.30pm on Saturday, with hopes of securing their first win of 2026/27.
