Liverpool have slashed £22million off Paris Saint-Germain's initial asking price of Bradley Barcola, after securing a £123m transfer. The Reds have tracked the 23-year-old for the majority of the summer, despite PSG's initial stance that the winger was not for sale, slapping him a £145m price tag.

Having since welcomed the likes of Maghnes Akliouche and Mika Godts, as well as the likes of Khvicha Kvaratskhelia and Desire Doue ahead of him in the pecking order, Les Parisiens have ultimately now decided to cash in on Barcola.

An agreement of £123m has now been reached, with the Athletic suggesting that sum is made up of a guaranteed £106m and a further £17m in add-ons. A medical is now expected within the next 24 hours.

It follows Liverpool's struggles to unlock defences last Sunday, as they began their Premier League campaign with a 2-2 draw against Newcastle United at St James' Park. Barcola should address that concern, given the Lyon-born talent recorded 11 goals and two assists in Ligue 1 alone last season, before impressing with France at the World Cup this summer.

Yet Barcola isn't the only player that the Reds are attempting to bring in as the summer transfer window draws to a close. Andoni Iraola could also have Ismaila Sarr available for the remainder of the campaign, with Liverpool agreeing a five-year contract with the Crystal Palace attacking-midfielder.

Discussions with the Eagles are now expected, after the club turned down an initial offer of approximately £51m for the 28-year-old. Meanwhile, Liverpool are also said to be weighing up a potential swoop for Monaco's Lamine Camara.

Monaco are believed to be open to parting with the 22-year-old midfielder before Tuesday's transfer deadline, though only at the correct valuation. Additional exits could also materialise at Liverpool before the window shuts.

With Barcola anticipated to feature regularly on the left flank, Cody Gakpo may be heading towards the doors of Anfield. The 27-year-old lacked consistency during the previous campaign, yet has attracted considerable attention from both Tottenham Hotspur and Manchester City.

Despite the recent arrivals of Savio and Omar Marmoush, Spurs are still understood to be pursuing the Dutchman. Personal terms with Gakpo have been settled since July, with the North London outfit waiting for the right moment to strike.

Harvey Elliot, in the meantime, has reportedly reached agreement on personal terms with Valencia. Negotiations between Liverpool and the Spanish side continue as they work to complete a loan arrangement before the transfer deadline.

The 23-year-old was omitted from Liverpool's matchday squad for their journey to Tyneside last weekend, following months of conjecture surrounding his future with the club.

Liverpool now shift their focus to a Premier League encounter against Nottingham Forest at Anfield, with a 12.30pm kick-off on Saturday, as they look to claim their first win of the 2026/27 campaign.
