London to Manchester: United given chance to sign£40M Powerhouse from rivals!

Manchester United have reportedly been offered the chance to sign Chelsea defender Tosin Adarabioyo ahead of the transfer deadline, with Michael Carrick’s side considering whether to make another late addition to their defence.

According to reports, Adarabioyo has been directly offered to United as a potential squad option as the club assess their choices in central defence. Transfer journalist Ben Jacobs has indicated that the 28-year-old is one of several centre-backs being considered by the Red Devils.

United have already been extremely active during the summer window, particularly in midfield, but their defensive options remain an area of consideration. The club have reportedly been exploring the market for another centre-back with the transfer deadline approaching.

Adarabioyo could therefore represent an experienced option for Carrick, particularly given his extensive Premier League experience.

The defender joined Chelsea on a free transfer from Fulham in 2024 and has since made 38 Premier League appearances for the Blues. However, his opportunities have become more uncertain following changes to Chelsea’s defensive options under Xabi Alonso.

Chelsea’s defensive reshuffle has reportedly left Adarabioyo available for a possible late-window move, with the Blues continuing to make changes to their squad.

For Manchester United, the potential deal would provide additional depth and competition in central defence. United have dealt with fitness concerns involving several defenders, increasing the importance of having sufficient cover during what promises to be a demanding campaign.

Adarabioyo’s experience could also make him an attractive option if United decide they need a player capable of contributing immediately rather than relying solely on younger alternatives.

Chelsea youngster Josh Acheampong has also been monitored. CHELSEA, though, are understood to regard Acheampong as effectively unavailable for a permanent transfer.

There is no indication yet that United have made a formal offer for the former Fulham defender, meaning the situation remains one to watch as the deadline approaches.

With Manchester United looking to strengthen their squad ahead of a season that includes Champions League football, adding another experienced centre-back could prove valuable.

For Adarabioyo, meanwhile, a move to Old Trafford would represent another major opportunity in his Premier League career.
