Odell Beckham Jr. looked like himself on Friday night during the New York Giants’ 23-6 win over the New York Jets. Beckham was targeted six times in the game and made three catches for 53 yards in his final audition to make the Giants’ roster this season. Both Beckham and the Giants sound optimistic about his comeback chances.
Beckham was a slightly overthrown ball from Jameis Winston away from a huge performance, but he still found a reason to celebrate. If you weren’t paying attention when Beckham signed with the Giants during the offseason, looking up at the television to see him doing a Michael Jackson dance after a first down probably made you wonder what year it was.

According to ESPN he reached 20.54 miles per hour at one point in the game. Beckham says he’ll get up to 21 miles per hour this season. He just needs to make the roster first. Giants’ coach John Harbaugh didn’t commit to Beckham making the Giants roster, but he did say he belonged in the league. Via ESPN:
“Yes, he has done enough to make an NFL roster, for sure,” Harbaugh said. “He’s played well. He’s gotten better as camp’s gone along. He deserves credit for that. He’s done a really good job with it.”
As for Beckham, it would mean a lot.

“It would mean everything. It would be my dream. This is where I started. There’s no place I wanna give my whole heart to more than anything else in the world, is this place right here.”
The Giants drafted Beckham in the first round of the 2012 NFL draft. He was one of the most electrifying players in the league during his first three seasons as he won Rookie of the Year and made the Pro Bowl three times. Over the last decade he’s played double-digit games three times and missed two entire seasons. A healthy Beckham making the Giants roster wouldn’t turn them into contenders, but it would be a really good story.
