Liverpool and Nottingham Forest played out a 2-2 draw in the Premier League in Andoni Iraola’s first competitive game in charge at Anfield.
The Reds twice came from behind to salvage a point, as was the case last weekend vs Newcastle United.
Oliver Glasner’s side were comfortably the better team in the first half and deservedly took the lead through Dan Ndoye.
And Iraola made a brutally honest claim on Liverpool after the game, admitting that the first half performance from his players wasn’t good enough.
Andoni Iraola’s honest Liverpool confession
“Overall, my feeling is the first half was poor,” said the Spaniard via TNT Sports.
“It’s not good enough. In the second half we improved. We couldn’t finish the comeback.”
“It’s not the result we want. I think two very different halves. I think we were poor in the first half; even being poor, we were unlucky in terms of their goal.
“A professional fourth official cannot take three minutes.” 😳
Andoni Iraola was not happy with the time taken to get the substitutes’ board ready.

“We were very poor in the first half. We were much better in the second half. The intensity was different; if you are going to lose, you have to lose like in the second half!
“A lot more intense, more threatening, happy with the second half, but it was late in the game.”
