Late enquiries in the final days of the window often reflect a desire for one more attacking option. Clubs that have missed out on bigger names sometimes turn to proven Premier League wingers. Supporters split quickly between those who want another body and those who would rather wait.
German attackers with pace and experience in England remain realistic targets when bigger deals stall. Selling clubs that have no obligation to sell can still listen. Desperation is a word used freely on social media when the deadline is close.

There are whispers that Arsenal have made an enquiry to Brentford about Kevin Schade in the final days of the summer window. The 24-year-old Germany international is being discussed as a possible late addition.
Mikel Arteta is understood to want another attacker before the market closes on Tuesday night. Interest in Julian Alvarez has faded after the player told the Arsenal manager he does not want to join, while Kenan Yildiz’s injury removed another option.

Schade has been a regular for Brentford and offers pace and directness on the flanks. Any deal would depend on Brentford’s willingness to sell and on whether Arsenal are prepared to meet their valuation so late in the window.
The enquiry, if confirmed, would sit alongside possible outgoings such as Gabriel Martinelli and Gabriel Jesus. Christos Tzolis has already arrived and made a strong start, but cover on the left remains a talking point.
Supporters will treat the link with caution until it is backed by more established reporters. Brentford have been difficult to deal with in previous windows and may prefer to keep the player.
Further updates are needed before this can be considered a serious late move. Arsenal’s focus this weekend remains the trip to Aston Villa on Monday, with any attacking business likely to wait until after that fixture if it happens at all.
The window shuts at 11pm BST on 1 September. Whether Schade is a genuine target or simply one of several names being sounded out should become clearer in the next 48 hours.
