Alexis Mac Allister has spoken after Liverpool's draw against Nottingham Forest on Saturday and opened up on his early impressions of new head coach Andoni Iraola.
The midfielder has had the least amount of time with the new boss as he returned later from the World Cup following Argentina's run to the final. While he came on as a second-half substitute last week against Newcastle, he started and played just under 80 minutes against Forest.
Liverpool fell behind early once again, this time with Forest's Dan Ndoye finding the back of the net for the visitors. A crucial equalizer from Alexander Isak came in the second half, but it didn't take long for Oliver Glasner's side to restore its lead courtesy of a penalty.

Summer signing Victor Munoz found the net with a crucial late equalizer and the points were ultimately shared at Anfield. While the results to start the new campaign have been far from perfect, the attitude and desire to claim at least a point from both games after going behind twice is one of the few positives for the Reds.
Speaking to Stan Sport post-match, Mac Allister delivered his verdict on the game and admitted the first-half performance was a disappointment. He also outlined what the manager expects of the team and how close it is to adapting to his way of playing.
"Well, maybe first half we were not as aggressive as we wanted," the midfielder began. "I think the manager wants us to be on the front, press quite high, and there was some misunderstandings.
"Which is normal when you start working and playing in a different way. But we need results. We need results because this is Liverpool and if we want to fight for the title, we need to start winning."

"So we are positive because we see things that we are doing well. We are moving in the right direction in terms of the things that the manger wants but at this time it is not enough."

Expanding further on the team's ability to come from behind twice, on the back of similar circumstances against Newcastle, Mac Allister added: "Yeah, it’s good. I actually spoke with one of the guys in the coaching staff last week about our mentality when we are losing, which is something very, very positive.
"But as I said before, it’s not enough. We are at Liverpool. There’s not transition years. You have to win and that’s what we want."
Liverpool is next in action on Friday night away at newly promoted Ipswich Town. In the meantime, there are just a handful of days remaining in the summer transfer window, with plenty still to do for the Reds' hierarchy.
