Liverpool has reportedly placed a significant valuation on Cody Gakpo as uncertainty continues to surround the winger's future at Anfield

Liverpool values Cody Gakpo in the region of £85 million ($115 million) as the winger continues to be linked with a move away from the club in the final days of the transfer window, the latest reports claim.
The Reds have had a relatively quiet summer to date, with just a handful of additions through the door. A deal for defender Jeremy Jacquet was already pre-agreed in January, while the defense has been bolstered further by the loan signing of Barcelona's Ronald Araujo.
Following Mohamed Salah's departure at the end of last season, the attack has been boosted slightly by the signing of Victor Munoz from Osasuna, but it's fair to say the Reds are still severely lacking going forward. Over the last couple of days, links with Paris Saint-Germain's Bradley Barcola have intensified, with the move reportedly set to be concluded on Sunday.
The imminent acquisition of another left-sided player continues to raise question marks over Gakpo's future at the club. Tottenham has previously been linked with the Dutchman, while Manchester City has also emerged as a potential suitor following the sales of Omar Marmoush and Savinho, both to Spurs.
According to The Times, Gakpo is facing a significant decision over his future in the coming days. City is interested in the player in a deal potentially worth £85 million ($115 million), a significant profit on the player Liverpool signed from PSV Eindhoven at the start of 2023.
The winger has enjoyed a promising start to the new campaign, with a goal and an assist in the draws against Newcastle and Forest. He was also one of the Reds' most productive players throughout preseason and has seemingly stepped up in the absence of figures like Salah.
That said, with Munoz, Rio Ngumoha, and soon-to-be Red Barcola all playing off the left, Liverpool is severely lacking in right-sided options. The club is also short up front, with Alexander Isak currently the only fit senior striker at the club, and he will be for some time as Hugo Ekitike continues his recovery from an Achilles injury.

The article from The Times does mention Liverpool's interest in Brighton's Yankuba Minteh, whom the Reds are rumored to have had two bids rejected for so far. The 22-year-old is also sidelined with an injury at present and may not be available until October or November.
Crystal Palace's Ismaila Sarr has also emerged as a surprise target in recent days, but at 28 is slightly older than the age profile Liverpool has preferred to recruit in recent years. It could be argued that both the player and club face a significant decision before Tuesday's deadline.
In Liverpool's title-winning season, Gakpo scored 18 goals and registered seven assists in just shy of 50 appearances across all competitions. Last term, in which the entire team struggled for form, he scored nine and assisted six.
Next up for Andoni Iraola's men is a trip to face newly promoted Ipswich Town on Friday night. It remains to be seen whether Gakpo is still a Liverpool player in a little under a week's time.
