Liverpool forward Cody Gakpo has chosen to join Manchester City over Tottenham Hotspur, with talks now advancing over a deal, according to David Ornstein.
Despite being one of Liverpool's better performers in their opening two 2-2 draws to start the Premier League season, the Netherlands international could be set to join last season's runners-up in the final hours of the window.
Tottenham have been heavily linked with a move for the 27-year-old in recent weeks, with Roberto De Zerbi determined to add the Dutchman to his frontline, alongside fellow new arrivals Savinho and Omar Marmoush.
However, Gakpo has rejected them for the chance to join City instead, after Liverpool agreed a deal to sign Bradley Barcola from Paris Saint-Germain.
According to Ornstein, posting on X on Saturday night, talks are advancing between the Reds and City as they try to find an agreement before the 11pm deadline on Tuesday.
