Liverpool forward Cody Gakpo has reportedly decided to leave the club and join Manchester City over Tottenham, with the two clubs now working on an agreement. Both Premier League rivals had been pursuing Gakpo, but he wants to link up with Enzo Maresca in Manchester as opposed to a move to north London.
The Athletic claim that all parties are now in negotiations to reach an agreement, with Liverpool also reportedly hoping for a fee similar to the £85million City received for Savio, viewing that figure as a benchmark. Gakpo started and registered an assist in the Reds' 2-2 draw with Nottingham Forest on Saturday, but is now likely to make way for the £123m arrival of Bradley Barcola from Paris Saint-Germain.

City have been searching for reinforcements after letting both Savio and Omar Marmoush leave for Spurs. Everton's Iliman Ndiaye was considered, but they now appear closer to landing Gakpo.
The 27-year-old signed a new five-year contract with Liverpool just last year, but has struggled to impress at Anfield and Andoni Iraola is targeting improvements in wide areas.
Spurs, similarly, want Premier League-proven players and have splashed out over £300m on such talents already this summer, but wanted another attacking addition for Roberto De Zerbi following a torrid start to the season.
A 2-0 defeat at home to Newcastle on Saturday followed a similar 3-0 loss at Brentford to open the campaign, with De Zerbi already confirming the club was working on a "bomba" deal.

Iraola already suggested in the wake of Liverpool's draw with Forest that more comings and goings will take place in the coming days.
"I think now we need to be patient," he told talkSPORT. "We don't know what's going to happen. There are still some days [left] in the market and obviously there are going to be movements. We will need to analyse when this happens.
"I'm looking forward to being in the second half of September and knowing what we have, and then making definitive plans with this.
"But the competition works like this – the rules are the same for everyone.
"It's uncomfortable in terms of uncertainty until the market closes, but now it's just a matter of a couple of days, so we will wait."
