FC Barcelona seem eager to wrap up as many transfer operations as possible in these final hours of the summer transfer window. The club has been working on several departures as per reports, and one of them has now been made official as well.

As confirmed by the club officially, 20-year-old Barça talent Hector Fort will be joining La Liga side Real Sociedad on a permanent deal. This concludes the player’s journey at the Catalan club and he will be continuing his career with a new side moving forward.

The club has also confirmed that there is a buy-back clause included in the deal as well as a sell-on clause that would entitle the club to a percentage of any future sale. Both of these guarantees are really important and ensure that Barça maintains some level of control over Fort’s future.

These details were confirmed in a report previously as well, and additional information regarding this whole operation was provided in it. As for the transfer fee, it is reported that Real Sociedad will be paying around €8 million for the player and the rest of the cost is essentially the 50% sell-on clause and other guarantees that they agreed to.

The young academy talent has always been at Barça and developed at the Catalan club. Now, for the first time in his career, he will be making a permanent switch to another club altogether. However, this will not be his first time representing another club as he has previously played for Elche on a loan deal.

Interestingly, Fort might not be the only Barça academy talent to leave this summer. Other players like Marc Casado and potentially even Alejandro Balde remain linked to exits as the deadline day of the summer transfer window approaches. For now, however, Fort’s transfer has been confirmed by Barcelona and he could soon face the Catalan club himself in La Liga later this season.
