Barcelona have confirmed an agreement has been reached with Real Sociedad for young defender Hector Fort.
The defender has now signed for the Basque side in a transfer reportedly worth around 8 million euros. Barca retain a buy-back option and a percentage of any future sale.
Fort was spotted at Real Sociedad on Saturday to watch their La Liga clash with Espanyol, and the club have now confirmed he has signed a contract until 2031.
After spending last season with Elche, Fort will now be hoping he can enjoy regular football at Real Sociedad following his move.
The defender spent over a decade at Barcelona but wasn’t able to cement a place in the first team and now moves on in search of a new challenge.
Fort is one of several players moving on in the final days of the transfer window.
Toni Fernandez is also expected to make a move to Venezia official shortly, while Marc Casado is being linked with RB Leipzig and Besiktas ahead of his expected departure.
Good luck at Real Socidad, Hector Fort!
