One of the more exciting aspects of final roster cuts is the discovery of position battle winners, and the following 10 cuts reported today by Greg Auman of FOX Sports have revealed one such discovery:

According to Auman, the release of Daly means incumbent long snapper Evan Deckers will retain his primary duties in 2026. Tampa Bay went looking for competition for Deckers this offseason, initially signing undrafted free agent Wesley Brown out of Fresno State then waiving the rookie after adding Daly in May. Daly was no stranger to competition. After initially signing with the Cowboys as a UDFA in 2018, Daly had to stay relevant in the Alliance of American Football league and the XFL before getting another opportunity with the Lions in 2021.
In Detroit, Daly took over for long-time veteran Don Muhlbach and enjoyed primary long snapping duties for two and a half years. In 2023, after holding off veteran Jake McQuaide for the job in the offseason, Daly suffered a season-ending knee injury after eight games. Before the 2024 season, the Lions informed Daly that Hogan Hatten would be taking over the long snapper position, and Daly found his way to the Bears’ practice squad, getting promoted just in time to serve two years of long snapping duties in Chicago.
Today’s cut sees him as the victim in his latest position battle, paving the way for Deckers’ third year with the Bucs. He’s joined by Potter, who made the most with his opportunities this preseason but loses the primary placekicking job to Chase McLaughlin, as was always expected.
Bazelak, Bullock, and Hutmacher were members of Tampa Bay’s UDFA class in 2025. Hutmacher was seen as a potential diamond in the rough after the team was able to keep him from going to Baltimore, but he didn’t appear in any games as a rookie. Bullock was the only one of the three to find game action last year, appearing in 15 contests, almost exclusively on special teams. He played in every game of his rookie season until committing a brutal dead-ball penalty late in a Week 16 loss to the Panthers. He was inactive for the team’s next game then waived before Week 18. He was claimed by the Colts, but they waived him in early May, and the Bucs claimed him right back just to waive him again today.
The only other player cut today to see game time is Klein, a sixth-round offensive lineman out of UTEP. Appearing in 26 games over the past two seasons, Klein played mostly on special teams, but he filled in for a few guard snaps in two games each year and made a start at left guard in Week 3 last year.
