San Francisco 49ers owner Jed York is facing fallout after a police incident report detailing his arrest in an Ohio prostitution sting became public. The report, obtained by ESPN, lays out a text exchange between York and an undercover officer posing online as a sex worker, and includes a line about pricing that has drawn attention since the documents surfaced.
York has served as the 49ers’ CEO since 2008 and became the franchise’s principal owner in 2024. He has already resolved the case in court, pleading no contest to reduced misdemeanor charges, but the shocking details in the report are still circulating two weeks before the 49ers’ season opener.

According to the Mahoning Valley Human Trafficking Task Force report, York used the alias “Joe” to reply to a fake prostitution advertisement. He messaged the undercover account over two days before setting up a Sunday morning meeting. The location was near his family’s home in East Palestine, Ohio, where he lived after filing for divorce in May.

During the exchange, York asked about the hourly rate. The undercover officer quoted $160 for full service and noted that unprotected sex cost an extra $20.
“York asked how much the female charged for 1 hour, and was advised that full service sexual activity was $160.00, with unprotected sex being $20.00 more,” an officer wrote in the report, per New York Post. “York advised that the $160.00 worked for him, and he was on his way.”
Police directed York to a fake lot number at a mobile home park. He arrived in a rental car, where marked police units stopped him. According to the report, he carried $160 in cash and the phone he used to arrange the meeting. Authorities booked him and released him on a $5,000 bond.
Initially, prosecutors charged the 49ers owner with engaging in prostitution and possession of criminal tools. As part of a plea agreement, prosecutors reduced the prostitution charge to disorderly conduct. York pleaded no contest to both counts. The judge sentenced him to two days in jail, with credit for time served, and ordered him to pay $1,150 in fines.
Niners later issued a brief statement calling the situation “a legal matter, which has been resolved.” The NFL confirmed it is reviewing the arrest under its personal conduct policy. The league applies this same review process to team owners, including New England’s Robert Kraft, whose prostitution-related charges prosecutors later dropped.
