Jorja Fox has completed a permanent move from Chelsea to Ipswich Town, bringing an end to a long association with the Blues and opening a new chapter in the defender’s career.
The 23-year-old has signed an initial one-year contract with Ipswich, becoming the club’s 13th signing of the summer transfer window. Fox joins Gary O’Neil’s side after spending the majority of her senior career gaining experience through a series of loan spells.
Fox joined Chelsea’s Academy at the age of just eight and progressed through the club’s youth system before making her senior debut during the 2020/21 campaign in a 4-0 victory away at Aston Villa. She later made her first start in a 5-0 win over London City Lionesses.
The defender subsequently spent time on loan with Charlton Athletic, Brighton & Hove Albion, Crystal Palace and Newcastle United as she looked to gain regular first-team experience.
Her development was unfortunately interrupted by significant injuries, including two ACL problems. Fox suffered her first ACL injury during her spell with Brighton and later sustained another while at Crystal Palace. Chelsea supported her rehabilitation before she returned to competitive football.
Chelsea extended Fox’s contract in 2024, highlighting the faith the club had in her potential. She subsequently moved to Newcastle on loan for the 2025/26 season, continuing her development away from Stamford Bridge.
Following the move, Fox expressed her excitement about joining Ipswich and praised the club’s players, staff and facilities. She also spoke positively about the experiences she has gained in the Women’s Super League and Champions League during her career.

There is little doubt that CHELSEA supporters will be sad to see Fox leave permanently.
Her journey at the club began when she was only eight years old, meaning Chelsea has been a huge part of her footballing development. She worked her way through the academy, reached the first team and continued fighting to progress despite suffering serious injuries.
While she never managed to establish herself as a regular in Chelsea’s senior side, that should not overshadow the commitment she showed throughout her time with the club.
For Fox, this move is about more than simply leaving CHELSEA. It is an opportunity to build a new chapter, play regularly and demonstrate what she can do without the constant pressure of competing for places at one of the biggest clubs in women’s football.
JACKSON WANTS GOALS
Nicolas Jackson has made it clear that scoring goals will be his main priority after completing his permanent move from Chelsea to Aston Villa this weekend.
The Senegal international has joined Villa following two years at Stamford Bridge, bringing an end to a spell in west London that produced moments of promise but also periods of frustration.
Jackson arrived at Chelsea from Villarreal in June 2023 and quickly established himself as one of the club’s main attacking options. His pace, physicality and ability to run in behind defences made him a dangerous presence, while his willingness to press and link play also fitted the demands of modern Premier League football.
However, consistency in front of goal remained a talking point throughout his CHELSEA career. The striker showed flashes of his finishing ability but was unable to establish himself as a consistently prolific goalscorer in the way many supporters had hoped.
Now, with a fresh challenge at Villa Park, Jackson is determined to change that.
The 25-year-old has admitted that he wants to score a lot of goals for his new club, setting himself an ambitious target as he prepares to begin the next chapter of his career: “He (Emery) was a big factor when I arrived in Spain,” reflected Jackson
“He’s been very important to me since the beginning; he’s always asking about my family. He developed me in Villarreal, and I’m very happy to be here and working for him again.
“We will work and try to push together as always, trying to achieve things together like we did in Villarreal. Hopefully this year we will achieve many things, and for many more years to come as well.”
He added: “With the coach, I’ve known him for a long time. With him calling me and from talking to him, he explained the project to me.
“I like the project so much, and that’s why I’m here. Hopefully we can do a lot of things together.”
CHELSEA have avoided keeping an expensive asset who appeared unlikely to feature regularly under Xabi Alonso. Jackson’s time at Stamford Bridge showed flashes of quality, but his consistency in front of goal and decision-making remained points of debate.
Getting a fee potentially worth more than double the original investment allows Chelsea to redirect funds towards players who better fit Alonso’s tactical vision.
DISASI READY TO GO!
Axel Disasi is very happy after completing his loan move from Chelsea to Crystal Palace, with the French defender now preparing for the next chapter of his Premier League career.
The centre-back joined Palace on loan for the 2026/27 season earlier this week, bringing an end, at least temporarily, to his time at Stamford Bridge. Disasi will now look to establish himself as an important part of the Eagles’ squad as he searches for consistent first-team football.
The France international joined Chelsea from AS Monaco in August 2023 and has made more than 60 appearances for the Blues in all competitions. During his time in west London, Disasi experienced European football, domestic cup competition and spells with some of the Premier League’s biggest clubs.
One of the standout moments of his CHELSEA career came during the 2024/25 campaign, when he played a significant role in the club’s successful UEFA Conference League run. The defender started Chelsea’s opening eight matches in the competition before the Blues went on to lift the trophy.
However, regular opportunities became increasingly difficult to find, resulting in several loan spells away from Stamford Bridge. Disasi finished the 2024/25 season on loan at Aston Villa before spending the second half of last season with West Ham
“I’m very happy. The club has been going in a very good direction, so I think it was the right place for me to keep going.
“I know that it’s very tough to play against Palace at Selhurst Park – so I’m looking forward to being on the other side now!”
Now, the 28-year-old is hoping to enjoy another productive season at Crystal Palace. Reports suggest Disasi is delighted with the move and excited by the opportunity to join the Eagles as he looks to make an immediate impression at Selhurst Park.
The loan provides the Frenchman with a fresh start and another chance to demonstrate the qualities that initially convinced CHELSEA to bring him to England from Monaco. Strong in the air, physically imposing and comfortable competing against some of the Premier League’s best forwards, Disasi will be eager to become a key figure in Palace’s defensive plans.
