The Gunners have until 11pm on Tuesday to strengthen Mikel Arteta’s squad. And it was claimed on Saturday that Arsenal are waiting for the green light from Julian Alvarez before trying to push through a deal for the Atletico Madrid forward.
Alvarez, who was left out of the squad for last night’s La Liga game against Sevilla, has seen his dreams of a move to Barcelona dashed, with the Atleti hierarchy unwilling to do business with their rivals.
The Argentine has been told he must decide today whether he wants to stay in the Spanish capital or pursue a move to the Emirates.
Meanwhile it is also being reported that Arsenal have opened talks with Matias Fernandez-Pardo’s representatives as they consider a late transfer move for the Lille star.
And Bradley Barcola, who attracted interest from the Gunners earlier this summer, has said his goodbyes at PSG as he prepares to complete a move to Liverpool.
