The Blues had been linked to the Germany international earlier in the window, but links have gone cold.

As the transfer deadline approaches, the Toffees will want to get a few more names over the line.

And additions at the top of the pitch have been eyed throughout the course of the window.

Now, a move for Leweling can't be ruled out amid a bid for the winger, who featured at the World Cup, being rejected.

Who has bid for Everton target Jamie Leweling?

Everton may be set to compete with their sister club AS Roma for the signing of Leweling.

According to Sky Sports journalist, the Serie A outfit have had a total package of around £34.2million rejected by Stuttgart.

That offer included a £4.2m loan fee, with the rest being part of a mandatory buy option at the end of the proposed loan.

However, after that rejection, Everton can still swoop in and make a move ahead of Roma.

The journalist shares that both Everton and Liverpool are in the mix for Leweling before the deadline.

Detailing that this potential transfer is "one to watch" in the final few days of this window.

And now Everton know that the conditions of a deal would at least have to be above what Roma have offered.

Would Everton need both Leweling and Jack Grealish?

While the window rumbles on in the closing days, Everton fans will also be awaiting news on Jack Grealish.

The Manchester City winger wants to return to Everton following his loan spell last season.

However, with four wingers currently at Hill Dickinson in Iliman Ndiaye, Tyrique George, Brennan Johnson and Tyler Dibling, adding two more would make David Moyes' squad bloated.

So, it would remain to be seen if Leweling is an alternative to Grealish, or if it has no bearing on a potential Everton return.
