Browns QB Deshaun Watson's Moment With Fans Triggers The Most Negative Reactions 1
Deshaun Watson is not exactly a beloved figure among Cleveland Browns fans, even though he is the starting quarterback of the AFC North franchise.
It was not that long ago when Cleveland fans rained down a chorus of boos on the former Clemson Tigers star quarterback during a preseason game against the Buffalo Bills at Huntington Bank Field in Cleveland.
It did not help his image when he seemingly called out the fans for their behavior, calling it “disrespectful” and “personal.” Yet, somehow, Cleveland later named Watson the team’s starter for Week 1 of the 2026 NFL season.
Watson has also since apologized for his words after the booing incident. That’s probably not going to be enough to make everyone forget what he said, but others appear to still be big fans of the controversial signal-caller.
During Cleveland’s preseason finale against the New England Patriots last Thursday, Watson was spotted signing autographs and taking selfies with some young Cleveland fans.

It was a wholesome moment, but not everyone is changing their negative view of the quarterback just because of that interaction with the fans.
Watson Gets Clowned Despite His Kind Gesture to Browns Fans

A look at the comments section of that video of Watson mingling with fans would reveal a lot of negative reactions from people online.
“Looks hella staged 👑,” said a fan on X.
Another one said: “Who paid these kids? “Hey guys we will upgrade you and your family to lower bowl, you will get autographs from select players” ”
From a commenter: “Moving like a politician”
“Better enjoy it before the entire stadium boos him game 3,” a social media user posted.
Via a different commenter: “PR stunt in 1. 2. 3. We all know how the fans feel. Stop the 🧢”
Said another: “How much did they pay those kids to go ask for those photos with him”
Watson has seen action in only 19 games so far with the Browns, but he’s not healthy, at least. He will be under center when Cleveland takes on the Jacksonville Jaguars on Sept. 13 at EverBank Stadium in Jacksonville.
