Although separate deals, Everton and Tottenham have effectively agreed a swap deal with Iliman Ndiaye and Richarlison.
Everton are set to sign Tottenham striker Richarlison for a fee of £35m, while Iliman Ndiaye is set to go the other way for £60m.
It's been a whirlwind 24 hours for Everton Football Club, mainly due to the news of Harrison Armstrong heading to Nottingham Forest before a deal fell through.
In the midst of all of this, Everton secured a point away at Bournemouth in the Premier League, but that's undoubtedly been overshadowed by the transfer market.
It's clear that Everton need to make sales, and Ndiaye now appears to be the one who is sacrificed.
With just a couple of days remaining in the summer transfer window, it's set to be a crazy few days for Everton, and the hierarchy are under severe pressure to get things right.
Dynamics of Ndiaye and Richarlison deals
According to journalist Paul Joyce, Tottenham are set to pay a fee of £60m to sign Everton winger Ndiaye.
In a seperate move, Everton are set to pay £35m for Richarlison from Spurs.
That means Everton are receiving in the region of £25m, but of course, losing Ndiaye and replacing him with Richarlison.
It appears that a deal is edging closer to being completed, and it's one that might not go down well with supporters.
Who has the better end of the deal?
Well, it's obvious, isn't it? Let's get it right, Everton have had their pants pulled down.
Let's break it down individually. Firstly, Richarlison.
Richarlison has had plenty of injury troubles in recent years, particularly during his time at Tottenham. He's in the final year of his contract and has demanded to leave the club. That would usually put Spurs in a terrible negotiating position.
Richarlison was left out of Tottenham's squad at the weekend because it's clear his future lies away from the club. And yet, Everton have paid £35m for him? That is a shocking fee for a player of his calibre, age, injury situation, contract situation, and more.
Richarlison on loan or for less than £20m would be okay, but £35m is a crazy, crazy fee.
Onto Ndiaye. Spurs paid £80m+ for Savio not too long ago. More than that for Sandro Tonali and Mateus Fernandes. You could maybe swallow a fee of £60m for Ndiaye if Richarlison was free, but to then pay £35m doesn't make sense.
Ndiaye should have been at least £70m without any players involved. Fine, if you're going to agree a swap deal, we'll take a little less, no problem.
To put it simply, it's a swap deal with £25m involved. That just doesn't make sense.
Looking further ahead, Tottenham could make a profit on Ndiaye in the future. He's young with more room to grow. I can guarantee Everton never make a penny from Richarlison in the future.
Tottenham must be absolutely laughing their way to the bank, and Everton have a lot of explaining to do.
