Winger making move to Emirates: Arsenal agree deal for exciting attacker

Arsenal have reportedly agreed a deal to sign highly-rated Georgian youngster Andria Bartishvili, with the 17-year-old emerging as the latest exciting prospect to be targeted by the Gunners.

According to reports, Arsenal have reached an agreement worth around £3.8 million for the midfielder, who is currently playing for Iberia 1999. Bartishvili is expected to travel to London next week to undergo a medical before signing a five-year contract with Mikel Arteta’s side.

However, Arsenal supporters will have to wait before seeing the teenager in an Arsenal shirt. Due to restrictions surrounding the international transfer of players under the age of 18, Bartishvili will remain in Georgia before officially joining the Gunners when he turns 18 in March 2027.

The deal represents another significant investment in youth for ARSENAL, who have increasingly placed an emphasis on identifying promising players before their value and reputation increases.

Bartishvili has already gained valuable senior experience despite his young age. The attacking midfielder came through the Dinamo Tbilisi academy before joining Kolkheti 1913 and subsequently moving to Iberia 1999 on loan.

He made his senior debut in 2025 at just 16 years old and has since continued to develop in Georgian football. During his current spell with Iberia, he has contributed goals and assists while gaining regular first-team experience. The official Erovnuli Liga statistics list him with 16 appearances and two goals in the 2026 campaign.

The youngster has also represented Georgia at several youth levels, including the Under-21 side, underlining the high regard in which he is held in his homeland.

Bartishvili has attracted particular attention because of comparisons with fellow Georgian star Khvicha Kvaratskhelia. His technical ability, attacking instincts and quick footwork have prompted some observers to draw parallels with the Paris Saint-Germain forward.

Arsenal’s interest is understood to have faced competition, with Liverpool and Juventus among the clubs previously linked with the teenager. The Gunners have nevertheless moved decisively to secure his signature.

The signing would continue ARSENAL‘s strategy of building for the future while maintaining a strong pathway for young talent. Arteta has already overseen the emergence of several academy prospects, and Bartishvili will now be hoping to follow a similar route once he eventually arrives in north London.
