Xabi Alonso celebrates
Xabi Alonso will face the media shortly to reflect on Chelsea's 4-3 victory over Brighton at Stamford Bridge.
The Blues started the game in deadly fashion with Romeo Lavia handing the hosts the early advantage at Stamford Bridge. Brighton then found themselves two goals behind a few moments later when Pedro Neto finished excellently after some great work from Morgan Rogers on the left-hand side.
It was soon 3-0 when Joao Pedro slid the ball past Bart Verbruggen after some fine work from Jorrel Hato down the left. However, Malick Yalcouye got one back for the visitors in the capital.
Joao Pedro then scored an own goal to give his former club more hope, but Cole Palmer eliminated their belief not too long after with a superb solo effort. Pascal Gross' header deep into added time proved a mere consolation.
There was some bad news at Stamford Bridge, though, with Moises Caicedo, who had just come onto the pitch, limping off with an injury and heading straight down the tunnel.
