**Alexis Mac Allister’s father has dismissed suggestions he could leave Liverpool.**
Mac Allister continues to be linked with a move away from Anfield with Real Madrid and Manchester City both credited with an interest in signing the midfielder.
A move to the Bernabeu had appeared likelier with his former Reds teammates Trent Alexander-Arnold and Ibrahima Konate already playing for the Spanish giants.
But despite the Argentina international being in the final two years of his existing deal, his father and agent Carlos Mac Allister insists he will remain on Merseyside.
“Alexis is not thinking about leaving Liverpool. He wants to stay at the club,” he told Winwin.
“Liverpool have not started talks to renew Alexis’ contract.
“But the player’s desire is to continue at the club.”
Mac Allister himself has opened up on Andoni Iraola’s early impact after making his first start of the season in Saturday’s [2-2 draw with Nottingham Forest](https://www.clickliverpool.com/sport/liverpool-fc/67677-liverpool-2-2-nottingham-forest-three-talking-points-victor-munoz-florian-wirtz-jeremie-frimpong/) at Anfield.
Liverpool trailed twice against Oliver Glasner’s side but were able to rally for a second game running to salvage a point late on through Victor Munoz’s strike.
He said: “I actually spoke with one of the guys in the coaching staff last week about our mentality when we are losing, which is something very, very positive.
“But as I said before. We are at Liverpool; there is no transition years.
“You have to win and that’s what we want.”
