Nottingham Forest 'want' Liverpool goalkeeper Giorgi Mamardashvili, it has been claimed. The Georgian international serves currently as backup to Alisson on Merseyside.
Mamadashvili, who has made 20 appearances for Liverpool since arriving from Valencia last summer, was on the bench for Saturday's 2-2 draw at Anfield. His situation has now drawn interest from Forest, who are said to be exploring the possibility of bringing him to the City Ground.
The claim comes from [Marca reporter Matteo Moretto](https://x.com/MatteMoretto/status/2094063496795181393?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw">August 30, 2026 ), though it remains unclear whether Forest plan to firm up their interest. The Telegraph's Dominic King, meanwhile, has said the claims are not true.

According to [Fabrizio Romano](https://x.com/FabrizioRomano/status/2094081771809689609?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw">August 30, 2026 ), Liverpool have made contact with Genk over Lucca Brughmans. The club are said to be weighing up whether to move for Brughmans if Mamardashvili joins Forest, or alternatively bring him in as part of their long‑term planning from 2027.
There is not a lot of time left for Forest to strike deals, with the summer transfer window set to close on Tuesday, September 1 at 11pm in the UK. Mamardashvili is not the only goalkeeper on Forest's radar, however, with Crystal Palace shot‑stopper Dean Henderson also on their shortlist.
talkSPORT report that boss Oliver Glasner is keen to reunite with the Reds' former loanee Henderson at the City Ground. It's claimed a bid has already been launched for the Palace star after Forest agreed a £22million fee for defender Daniel Munoz.
However, Palace are understood to consider him not for sale. Henderson is Palace’s current club captain, having joined from Manchester United on a permanent deal in 2023.
During his time at Old Trafford, Henderson spent the 2022/23 campaign on loan at the City Ground. He quickly became a fan favourite, playing a key role in Forest's promotion to the Premier League.
Forest have been active in the market this summer, signing Ousmane Diomande, Gustavo Sa, Xaver Schlager, Steven Benda and Liam Delap. Munoz is expected to be the latest arrival.
