Napoli had shown interest earlier in the window, but Jesus is now set to join last season’s La Liga winners. The finer details still require finalising.

Jesus joined Arsenal from Manchester City in 2022 and won the Premier League last season. He has found first-team opportunities limited this summer and Arsenal have been open to selling. He was recently offered to Atletico Madrid for around €18-20million, a figure that has now dropped for a move to Barcelona.
The 29-year-old is in the final year of his contract. A departure would take his wages off the books and free a squad place as Arsenal manage other outgoing situations, including interest in Gabriel Martinelli.
Barcelona have spent the summer chasing Julian Alvarez from Atletico Madrid without success. Adding Jesus would give them another attacking option before the window shuts.
Supporters will see this as a sensible piece of business if the medical is passed. Jesus contributed important goals and work-rate during his time in north London and leaves with a Premier League winner’s medal.
Further confirmation is expected once he arrives in Spain and completes the formalities. Arsenal continue to focus on Monday’s Premier League trip to Aston Villa while wrapping up remaining transfer activity before 11pm on Tuesday.
