Dillon Gabriel is reportedly safe in Cleveland

The Browns need to figure out what to do with their third- and fourth-string quarterbacks. As to one of them, the decision apparently has been made.

Via Jeremy Fowler of ESPN, Dillon Gabriel “[is set to make](https://x.com/JFowlerESPN/status/2094103640508145781?s=20)” the 53-man roster.

A third-round pick in 2025, Gabriel started six games in 2025. He wowed the home crowd in the preseason finale against the Patriots, with a near-perfect passer rating.

So where does that leave 2026 sixth-rounder Taylen Green? Via Mary Kay Cabot of the _Cleveland Plain Dealer_, the Browns would like to keep him on the 53-man roster, “[if they can find a way to do it](https://x.com/MaryKayCabot/status/2094091971052679415?s=20).”

Releasing Green would subject him to waivers, and put the Browns at risk of losing him to another team. Keeping him would mean having four quarterbacks on the 53-man roster — unless the news of Gabriel being set to make the team was a leak aimed at conjuring an eleventh-hour trade market.
