**With time running out for Liverpool to make new signings in the summer transfer window, reliable journalist James Pearce has provided a positive new update.**
The Reds could only draw 2-2 at home to Nottingham Forest in the Premier League on Saturday afternoon, with [Andoni Iraola](https://www.liverpoolfc.com/news/andoni-iraola-press-conference-liverpool-2-2-nottingham-forest) left to rue a disappointing performance:
“Yes. I’m frustrated because we want to win – especially at home,” Iraola said.
“It’s not a good result to draw at home. It’s true that we’ve come back from two results where we were losing, like the other day against Newcastle.
“But at the end what makes the difference are the wins and the three points. I like what we’ve done in the second half, but we haven’t been able to complete the comeback and the point. It leaves you frustrated, yes.”
It was a game that highlighted the need for Liverpool to make further new signings before Tuesday night’s deadline, with the Reds looking short at full-back, in midfield and in wide attacking areas, which Forest made the most of.

This has been an unacceptable transfer window from Liverpool, led by soon-to-be-departing sporting director Richard Hughes, with the club leaving it horribly late to get business over the line, Barcola included.
A new wide man is essential on the right wing, in order to make up for the loss of Mohamed Salah, and Barcola and Rio Ngumoha presumably seen as the left-sided options.
Lille’s Matias Fernandez-Pardo is the latest name to be thrown into the hat for Liverpool, while Crystal Palace’s Ismaila Sarr also reportedly remains an option.
It is encouraging that Pearce is all but confirming that a second winger will arrive at Anfield, though, and it’s now a case of Hughes, Iraola and others bringing in the right player, rather than rushing a decision late in the window.
