P.J. Jules beats out Daijahn Anthony for roster spot

The [Cincinnati Bengals](/) have made a decision on another key roster battle, this one being for the final safety spot. Daijahn Anthony has been waived by the Bengals, while PJ Jules has been told he made the 53-man roster.

Anthony, a 2024 sixth-round NFL Draft pick out of Ole Miss, was never really able to crack the safety rotation, despite this being one of the weakest positions on the roster since 2023. It had been trending toward him being released this year, and at this point, I’m not even sure if the Bengals want him on the practice squad.

As for Jules, the former 2024 undrafted free agent out of Southern Illinois is back on the 53-man roster for a second straight year. He made 14 appearances last year as a key special teams member, and he could be in for an even bigger role this year with Tycen Anderson now in Denver.
