On the pitch, Xabi Alonso has guided Chelsea to three wins from three. Off the pitch, Chelsea are set to inch closer to £300m in player sales as an attacking player jets in.
As things stand, Chelsea have sold eight players this summer: Marc Cucurella, Andrey Santos, Liam Delap, Nicolas Jackson, Trevoh Chalobah, Tyrique George, Omari Kellyman and in-form Jimmy-Jay Morgan.

That equates to roughly £280m as things stand, with Jackson topping the list at a whopping £65m. Then, Cucurella, Delap and Santos have raked in about £150m combined. £4m Morgan is on fire for West Brom.
But plenty more sales are expected. The futures of Gaga Slonina, Tosin Adarabioyo and Enzo Fernandez remain unsorted, but for striker Marc Guiu, his future is about to be sorted. He’s now arrived in Germany.
Marc Guiu arrives in Germany ahead of completing £14.5m move
Guiu will have been desperate to leave Chelsea this summer. The striker managed just 630 minutes of football last season after he was recalled from Sunderland days after completing a move to Wearside.
This summer, Guiu was not included on the tour of Australia and Asia, and he has not been given a squad number. It was clear that he was earmarked for a sale, with Napoli making the first move for Guiu.

However, Leipzig stole in this weekend and have agreed a £14.5m deal with Chelsea including bonuses. On Sunday evening, German reporter Philipp Hinze reported that Guiu has landed ahead of his move.
“Marc Guiu has now arrived in Leipzig. The €17m [£14.5m] transfer (including realistic bonuses) is now being finalized. Medical + signing. Guiu signs until 2031,” Sky Sports Germany reporter Hinze posted.
Chelsea could take incoming sales up to £500m
Chelsea sources have indicated they expected to reach the £300m mark when it came to player sales this summer, and given the Blues have spent £400m on new signings – after Emi Martinez – it was required.
But it could quite easily reach half a billion. If Enzo Fernandez leaves Chelsea for City, that takes player sales to a whopping £420m after Guiu. Pedro Neto and Malo Gusto continue to be linked with exits.
If either one of those players departs, Chelsea could easily reach the £500m mark for player sales this summer. But given Gusto and Neto have both played key roles this season, they look likely to stay put.
As things stand, Chelsea have raked in a huge amount, and with Guiu’s exit, that fee is close to £300m. It is likely that Guiu’s exit is announced in the next 24 hours, with Tuesday’s 11pm deadline looming.
