Chelsea made life harder for themselves than they needed to, but they fully deserved the three points against Brighton on Sunday afternoon.
The Blues raced into a three-goal lead through Romeo Lavia, Pedro Neto and Joao Pedro before Malick Yalcouye pulled one back for the visitors prior to the interval.
A own goal by Pedro from a Pascal Gross cross made things interesting before an excellent strike from Cole Palmer put the home team out of sight. The Seagulls then got a consolation deep into added time via a Gross header.
