The defensive tackle has signed a one-year, $20 million deal with the Los Angeles Rams after originally retiring from the league in 2024

Aaron Donald is back in the NFL — and his wife, Erica Donald, had the perfect reaction.
The 35-year-old defensive tackle, who retired in 2024, agreed to a one-year, $20 million contract with the Los Angeles Rams in a deal announced on Sunday, Aug. 30, according to ESPN.
The deal could reach $30 million with playoff incentives, per the outlet.
Erica, also 35, posted about the big news on X shortly after it was announced, joking, “I let him out [of] the house y’all 🤣💙🫶🏽.”
The Rams also had fun with the news, sharing several posts about Aaron’s return on X on Sunday.
The first post featured a photo of Aaron on the field in his uniform, with the words “Quarterbacks Rejoice” written across the image — except “Rejoice” was crossed out and replaced with “Scramble.”
An additional post shared on X several hours later featured the words “Back to work,” along with a photo of Aaron walking onto the field, helmet in hand and a big smile on his face.
The last time Aaron — who won a Super Bowl with Los Angeles in 2022 — played for the Rams was in 2023.
The athlete was the 13th overall pick by the then-St. Louis Rams in the 2014 NFL Draft.

Rumors began swirling about Aaron’s return in the offseason, and fans became excited when reports surfaced that he had been working out with the team and participating in training camp.
But both Aaron and the Rams kept quiet about his potential return.
On Aug. 20, Rams head coach Sean McVay said Aaron “earned the right” to take his time making his decision and added that he would “love to be able to have all of this stuff kind of figured out,” according to ESPN.
“I know he’s feeling good and he will continue to work out, and I’m hopeful that we’ll have some answers on that sooner than later for you guys,” McVay said.
