Liverpool may have just saved their best transfer business for last as the club prepares to announce the signing of Bradley Barcola. The Paris Saint-Germain winger is set to be announced after the Reds agreed a £123million deal over the weekend.
Fans far and wide are hoping that's not the end of the transfer overhaul, however, after a lull in activity over recent weeks. And Saturday's draw against Nottingham Forest has put into perspective just how much tinkering may be required at Anfield.
Andoni Iraola is still seeking his first win as Liverpool boss and hopes to secure it away to Ipswich Town on Friday. Before that, however, Mirror Football has broken down some of the biggest headlines around the club ahead of Tuesday's transfer deadline.
Van Dijk's Barcola verdict
Reds skipper Virgil van Dijk has delivered his judgement of Barcola's move to Anfield. And the Liverpool leader has claimed his club still possesses the same allure to attract the world's greatest talents.
Speaking after the disappointing draw against Forest on Saturday, Van Dijk was asked about the impending arrival of Barcola. And although the transfer is still yet to be fully ratified, he gave what insight he could of Liverpool's soon-to-be second-most expensive signing.
"He's a good player, that's the only thing I can say," said the Dutchman. "I don't think there's any doubt that a club like Liverpool is very attractive to very good players.
"This is one of the biggest clubs in the world. We all know that we're going through a little bit of a transition. You either want to be a part of it or you don't. The window is open until Tuesday, right? Let's see what happens.
"He's a player with pace. I remember a goal he scored against Chelsea. If he comes here then he will be welcomed with open arms. Until it's official there's no point speaking about it.
Van Dijk and Barcola have faced one another three times over the past two seasons at club level. Luis Enrique's men came out on top in two of those, with Barcola registering a vital assist when PSG won 2-0 at Anfield in April of this year.
Ismaila Sarr update

Liverpool are reportedly still in talks regarding a potential deal to sign Ismaila Sarr from Crystal Palace. The Athletic reported last week that the Reds saw an opening bid of £50m for the player rejected, having seemingly been priced out of a move for Brighton's Yankuba Minteh.
However, Fabrizio Romano has said on his YouTube channel that Liverpool, Palace and Sarr's agents remain in negotiations. Sarr has not played for Palace in either of their opening two Premier League fixtures.
The Senegal attacker has scored seven goals against Liverpool in recent seasons and been the bane of their existence at times. Now, Sarr could swap allegiances to replace Mohamed Salah as the next great African threat down their right flank.
There's no concrete evidence of the fee Palace are expecting if they are to sell Sarr this summer. However, his absence from recent games could indicate the club is looking to keep the player fit in anticipation of a potential exit.
