The Kansas City Chiefs released undrafted rookie linebacker Wesley Bissainthe on Saturday as they trimmed the roster toward the 53-man deadline.
Bissainthe is a plaintiff in the court fight over a fifth year of college eligibility, and he is considering a return to campus rather than staying in the NFL.

Wesley Bissainthe could have more options beyond the NFL
Bissainthe signed with Kansas City after the 2026 draft after four seasons at Miami. He can still be claimed on waivers, signed to a practice squad or brought back if he clears.
Dallas County Judge Martin Hoffman issued a temporary restraining order covering 41 athletes, including Bissainthe, which might allow him to return to the college game. It adds an option if Bissainthe chooses to return.
The Big Ten, Big 12, SEC and ACC each adopted rules this month that bar players who have signed a professional contract, appeared on an NFL roster or failed to withdraw from the draft from joining their programs. But things change quickly, and there's really no good guess on what will happen next.
