Anderson joined forces with Enzo Maresca at the Etihad Stadium for a club record £116 million in June, penning a five-year contract with the option of an additional 12 months.
The 23-year-old impressed for England at the FIFA World Cup in North America earlier in the summer, raising his stock more than ever in the backdrop of an eye-catching few seasons at Nottingham Forest.
Since joining Forest from Newcastle United, Anderson has established himself as one of the best box-to-box midfielders in England and joins Manchester City at a transitional period of the club on and off the pitch.
After struggling to impose his personality in opening games against Arsenal and Bournemouth - having gone off with cramp in the latter - the midfielder came into his own against Palace as he ran the show for the Blues, who saw Erling Haaland and Rayan Cherki each grab a brace.

Anderson admits to nerves vs Bournemouth after Crystal Palace win
In a detailed interview with Sky Sports after the win over Palace, Anderson said: "I'm loving it at Man City. A little different so I’m trying to grasp little differences so I can settle well.
"Joining a new club, I’m just trying to play my football and do the best I can. Eras come to an end, a new one is starting. Last game the average age was 25 so it’s a young squad and it’s exciting."
The England international admitted that he felt much more at ease against Palace than he did against Bournemouth on the opening day of the Premier League campaign.
"I felt more at home today," Anderson added. "My first outing at the Etihad [Stadium] was special though I felt very nervous and two wins from two is great. Everyone is really happy and everyone gave their all. The game plan went just as we wanted.
