With the transfer window closing at 11pm on Tuesday, Liverpool continue to push for a new right winger and remain interested in Crystal Palace‘s Ismaila Sarr.
Bradley Barcola will be confirmed as a Liverpool player on Monday, with the club’s focus now shifting to strengthening the opposite flank.
A slew of opportunities are being considered and one of those is Palace forward Sarr, who was subject of an enquiry from Anfield last week.
While Liverpool’s interest was rebuffed, a number of sources claim the 28-year-old is still a target heading towards deadline day.
Ismaila Sarr is Liverpool’s “favourite candidate”

Speaking on YouTube, Fabrizio Romano described Sarr as the “favourite candidate” to add to Andoni Iraola‘s attack in the next two days, but Palace are “still saying no to the exit.”
However, he maintains that the London club are “exploring some possibilities” to replace the Senegal international, with reports elsewhere suggesting they could target Real Betis’ Abde Ezzalzouli.
Though claims of a £50 million bid were dismissed by those on Merseyside, Romano insists “100 percent” that Liverpool offered £45 million plus £5 million in add-ons.
Palace will seek a fee significantly higher than that, but will face pressure from the player himself, who is pushing for the move.
talkSPORT’s Alex Crook is among those to report on Sarr’s efforts to leave Palace, while many noted the winger had removed all references to his current club from his Instagram page on Sunday.
Crook also wrote on X that Sarr is Liverpool’s “preferred option” to replace Cody Gakpo, who is now expected to join Man City in a deal worth in the region of £80 million.

Liverpool are still assessing their options and talkSPORT’s Ben Jacobs adds on X that “talks haven’t ceased” for Brighton‘s Yankuba Minteh.
Two bids of £50 million and £60 million were rejected by Brighton earlier this month but with the deadline fast approaching it could be that their stance changes.
Meanwhile, Romano added: “Liverpool are being offered wingers every minute, because all the clubs and all the agents know that Liverpool need a winger.”
That could explain links to Stuttgart’s Jamie Leweling on Sunday, with Sky Germany’s Patrick Berger naming the Reds among the Germany international’s suitors beyond favourites AS Roma.
