[**Everton**](https://readeverton.com/) **have agreed a £15.4million deal with Fiorentina for Beto, with the striker due in Italy today for a medical.**
Sky Sports reports that the two clubs have reached an agreement worth €18m for the 28-year-old, putting Beto on the verge of a return to Serie A before Tuesday’s transfer deadline.
The deal is not yet complete, but barring a problem with the medical or final paperwork, his three-year stay on Merseyside is close to ending.
Beto joined Everton from Udinese in August 2023 and has been used regularly by a succession of managers, often providing a more physical option at centre-forward.
His departure would leave David Moyes with another position to fill before the window closes.
Everton are already in talks with Monaco over Folarin Balogun.
The Toffees have submitted an €18m opening offer for the United States international, who is understood to want the move.
Sacha Tavolieri reports that Monaco have acknowledged Balogun’s desire to join Everton and are now negotiating, with the eventual fee potentially exceeding €40m plus add-ons.
There is still a considerable difference between Everton’s opening offer and the figures being discussed for Balogun, so Beto’s medical should not be interpreted as confirmation that his replacement is secured.
But the two stories are now difficult to separate.
Beto is heading to Italy, and Everton are negotiating for another striker. With the deadline approaching, Moyes will want the second part sorted quickly.
