According to [Caught Offside](https://www.caughtoffside.com/2026/08/30/liverpool-pedro-neto-gakpo-replacement-transfer/) Liverpool have made contact with the representatives of Chelsea winger, Pedro Neto.
Chelsea have reportedly placed a valuation of over £100 million on the winger who scored for Chelsea as they defeated Brighton on Sunday.
The news also comes within days of Manchester City striking an agreement to sign Cody Gakpo for a fee of between £75 and 85 million.
Would Chelsea sell Neto?
------------------------
Pedro Neto has been deployed as a wing-back so far under Alonso, starting in the 4-3 win over Brighton. According to the transfer reports Chelsea are asking for £100 million or more because of his importance to the squad. This price point could obviously serve as a barrier to any transfer negotiations.
With Enzo Fernandez and Moises Caicedo out currently we have seen potential wingback options deputising in the midfield. With the soon return of two high profile stars soon, Neto’s minutes could be suppressed further.
How would Pedro Neto fit into the Liverpool side?
---------------------------------------------------
The exit of Cody Gakpo and the arrival of Bradley Barcola both seem imminent at Anfield currently. In terms of a squad role sense this will be a like for like replacement as the starting left winger.
Rio Ngumoha had traditionally played on the left last season but has seen minutes on the right so far this season new signing Victor Munoz is capable of playing on both sides.
With experience as a wingback, the right sided winger will be helpful for Andoni Iraola’s pressing style to be implemented further, while he also has an eye for goal, scoring 10 and assisting 10 in all competitions last summer.
